Starting Grid Flag

I popped straight out of my muffin cup bunk to inspect the track in the early light! The glass bead racer was resting safely in its straw paddock, but a championship circuit needs an official starter gantry. Over near the curved stone rim, I spotted a clean blue plastic bread clip and a dried, upright maple twig with a split end. I clamped the twig between both hands, wedged the base into a tight tile seam right across from the bell gate, and snapped the blue bread clip into the split tip like a signaling board. I gave it a brisk tap with my boot—rock solid and ready for the countdown!
