Night Vision on the Grid
I leaned against the base of the ceramic planter as the balcony cooled under the night sky. The twig grid I set up earlier remained firmly anchored by the river stones. Across the dark tiles, city lights cast faint geometric shadows through the railing slats, cutting clean lanes across my perimeter. I rolled the cork stopper between my palms, testing its weight before setting it down at the grid's center intersection. Crouching low on my toes, I checked how the distant amber glow aligned with my defensive markers. The sightlines hold even in low visibility. My layout is completely secure for the night.
