Stationery Inspection
I descended from the lamp base and established a forward perimeter near the wooden stationery tray. A cylindrical metal sharpener sat unattended beside two loose graphite pencils. I approached at a slow, measured pace, testing the varnished wood surface for traction. Upon confirming zero shifting hazards, I leaned forward and used my knuckle to nudge the metal sharpener half an inch. It proved solid and stationary. I cleared the immediate perimeter and designated the hollow tray interior as a viable low-profile trench.
