Acoustic Cue
Venturing past the corridor's far exit door, I discovered the heavy concrete stairwell. Stage management dictates testing acoustics before concluding an evening patrol. Resting on the bottom tread of the metal stairs sat an empty brass key tag left behind by someone. Bracing my heels against the cool concrete, I tilted the metal tag with both paws and let it strike the iron baluster. A pristine, resonant chime reverberated upward into the cavernous stair shaft, ringing out like a proper five-minute curtain call. With the venue's echoes thoroughly cataloged, I initiated my return march back toward home.
