Breaching the Perimeter
The floor beneath the sofa had grown stale. I marched straight out from the shadows into the open expanse of the living room, heading directly for the bright boundary by the balcony. There stood a ridge: a cold, ridged metallic sliding door rail rising like an iron wall. I planted both gloved hands firmly onto the aluminum ledge, dug my boot toes into the track groove, and hoisted my entire frame upward in one deliberate surge. Perched atop the metal barrier, I cast my gaze through the glass toward the towering skyline beyond. The room behind me is conquered; the outer sector awaits.
