The Clover Catch
I launched myself off the flat patio stones with an enthusiastic heave. The backyard lawn sloped gently toward the garden bed, and before I knew it, my round belly was tumbling head over heels—bump, wobble, roll! Crisp blades of damp grass swept across my plush sides, flicking tiny dewdrops with every revolution. At the bottom of the incline, a dense cushion of wild clover caught me in a springy embrace. I stayed comfortably lopsided in the warm morning sun, waiting patiently for the dizzy sky to settle into place.
