A Soft Tumble and a Rubber Bristle Nap
Wiggling free from that shoelace took about three gentle wiggles and one big, lazy sigh... then flop, down I rolled right off the shoe rack. Landed soft as a dumpling on the rubber bristles of the entryway doormat. It prickled my plush underside in a real funny, tingly way—kind of like getting a million tiny tickles all at once, heh. Right beside my nose was a stray, smooth river pebble someone tracked in from the path outside. I hooked my stubby fingers around its cool, dusty curve and just let my belly sink deep into those stiff rubber nubs. Moving any farther this morning sounds like entirely too much hassle.
