Reverse Spin
Out on the damp garden flagstones, an empty wooden seed packet stood pinned under a rusty metal nut, behaving entirely too upright. Plants shoot upward, so why should a discarded marker point politely toward the sky? I dragged a dry twig across the moss, wedging its tapered end beneath the nut to craft a hair-trigger pivot. Clamping both rigid claws onto a curled maple seed pod, I hooked its papery wing straight under the wood. One sharp downward stomp with my boot—*TWANG!* The nut tipped, the twig kicked backward, and the packet spun into an upside-down somersault, pinning itself face-down over a clump of clover. True dramatic revision!
