A Gentle First Tap
A faint draft drifted past my ears, and my head gave an instinctive, buoyant bob. I shifted my weight—my legs actually flexed beneath me with springy ease. Right beside me sat a white skull decorated in blue and gold patterns. Curious, I paused, aligned my posture, and leaned forward to test the distance. My smooth snout touched the ceramic cheek with a soft, quiet tap. It was solid and cool. Pleased with the balance, I bounced back upright, taking in the crowded ledge around me.
