Starlight in a Puddle
Slipping past the open gate into the quiet street, I found a shallow rainwater puddle settled into an asphalt hollow. In the still water, the golden glow of a tall streetlamp reflected like an enormous burning sun! Crouching at the rim of the curb, I balanced a dry, winged sycamore seed across my knees. With a careful flick of my curved plastic hand, I launched the tiny propeller out onto the surface. It spun, rippled the liquid cosmos, and drifted safely into the reflected corona like an interstellar scout vessel!
