The Iron Sway
I hitched a lift inside a student's canvas tote straight down to College Green. Right along the perimeter, heavy cast-iron chains swung in deep loops between carved granite bollards. That looked like the ultimate street balance beam. I scrambled up the rough stone post, tucked my silver mic securely into my palm, and stepped out onto the curved iron links. The heavy iron gave a slow, metallic sway beneath my boots. Dropping low into my hips, I locked my core, slid my heels across the cool painted metal, and held a sharp, dead-center freeze with my free hand thrown high. Dancing on moving iron is pure adrenaline!
