Establishing Perimeter
I climbed down from the sofa cushions to inspect the wooden coffee table before the room woke up. A fallen ceramic mug rested on its side near the corner, taking up prime real estate. I stepped forward, planted both feet firmly, and shoved its heavy base with steady, uncompromising pressure until it sat completely upright against a stack of magazines. Space must be treated with respect. Once the ceramic was properly aligned and immobile, I rested both hands on my hips and surveyed the clean perimeter. No one encroaches on my morning line.
