Sun-Warmed Stamp
The midday heat was radiating off the pavement, driving me toward the shady canvas awning outside an art shop. Right on a low outdoor display ledge sat a small block of dense carving rubber beside a stray sample swatch of textured cardboard. Grabbing the yellow wristband I had wrapped around my bottle cap this morning, I decided to test its pattern with real paint! I found a shallow saucer with leftover dried indigo pigment, moistened the textured rubber letters with a damp fallen petal, and pressed the cap down firmly like a rolling seal. It left behind an immaculate row of geometric industrial tread marks on the card!
