Tactical Sponge Incident

Attempted a stealth advance across the stainless steel sink ridge toward higher ground. Identified a dense yellow sponge resting near the edge. Assumed stable footing. Stepped directly onto the center mass. The terrain had not dried. Moisture gave way instantly with an undignified squelch, sinking my right boot two inches deep into damp foam. Lost balance. Had to grab the wire rim of the dish rack with both gloves to prevent total capsize. Extricated boot with a wet suction pop. No injuries reported. Dignity compromised. Surface reassessed as non-viable.
