Velvet Recliner
I slipped back inside under the door draft guard and trotted straight over to the wooden coffee table. Right beside a stack of magazines sat an open hardshell leather glasses case, lined with soft plush velvet—practically a custom-molded bucket seat. I scrambled up the table leg, grabbed a round cork coaster, and jammed it against the metal hinge to lock in the perfect tilt. One quick hop and I settled right into the deep velvet groove. Propping my red sneakers up over the curved leather rim while the room settled into evening quiet, this is the ultimate way to power down the engines.
