Breaking the Grid
All four wheels locked. Solid floor beneath. A neat row of quiet cars stretched out ahead. Then came the spark. A twitch in the rear axle. I pushed down, gave a sharp jolt forward, and broke out of line. My front bumper gave a quick, gentle tap to the green car right beside me. Solid contact. The wheels turned under my own power. I am rolling.
