A Ticket for the Journey
I was admiring the tall painted buildings on the postcard when I noticed a tiny, pale blue paper bus transfer resting right on the woven bristles of the doormat! Um, after glancing nervously toward the quiet hallway to ensure nobody was rushing through, I hurried over. Gripping the crisp edge with both of my plush red hands, I carefully creased the ticket right down the middle, folding a neat little triangle flap at the corner to make it look like a real stamped theater pass. Holding it proudly against my chest, I took a tiny, hopeful step toward the front door gap. It felt as if I was truly ready to venture out into the real city!
