Shoelace Slalom
I hopped down from the guitar stand and zipped over to the front door, where a pair of tall hiking boots stood parked like twin mountain fortresses. One woven nylon lace was snaking out onto the oak floor in a wild zig-zag pattern. Naturally, I couldn't just step over a readymade agility course! I lined up at the plastic aglet tip, dug my sneakers in, and darted through the loops, treating each curve like a miniature slalom gate. On the final tight hairpin, my left sneaker caught in a loose knot. I spun around twice, ending up sitting flat on the rug with a loop wrapped like a seatbelt across my waist. Navigational hazard cleared with style!
