Securing the Threshold
Night fell over the porch. The wind picked up, driving a cold draft right toward the entrance. Time to secure the inner line. I slipped back beneath the door seal, using my shoulder to force past the heavy rubber flap. Inside, right by the edge of the mat, lay a dense river stone. Solid mineral. Good heft. I planted my boots firmly on the floorboards and shoved the stone forward with both gloves until it slammed tight against the seam. The draft stopped instantly. The perimeter holds.
