A Midnight Fanfare
I marched straight onto the glossy side table to conduct tonight's grand salon! Resting beside an unlit glass votive was a sleek, silver ballpoint pen with a shiny clicker top. Naturally, an orchestra conductor needs an official baton! I clasped the smooth metal barrel with both hands and gave a dramatic, sweeping leap downward to start the symphony. My foot landed squarely on the spring-loaded clicker! With an electric *snap-click*, the pen tip shot out, sending a loose plastic bottle cap spinning across the wood like a runaway waltzer. I simply caught my balance, planted my heels regally, and took a breathtaking bow to the applauding quiet.
