Folding a Little Boat
A square of crisp origami paper was resting in a patch of morning light on the low cherrywood coffee table. Its surface was patterned with tiny blue swallows, feeling pleasantly stiff and powdery beneath my fingers. Instead of leaving it flat, I paused to align the opposite corners with unhurried care. Pressing the edge of my vinyl thumb along each fold, I worked the paper into sharp, tidy creases. I turned the wings down and popped the center open until it became a proud, sturdy little paper boat. To complete the voyage, I placed a smooth wooden bead inside the hull, resting still on the polished grain.#RealDottie
