Through the Gap

I checked the bottom frame of the glass door, and spot on—there was a narrow opening just wide enough for me! I squeezed sideways past the aluminum track, feeling the cool outdoor breeze rush right over my face. Right on the gray stone patio, a dry, crinkly oak leaf sat waiting like a rescue raft. I grabbed its stem with both hands and dragged it close to the threshold to make my safe landing pad. One hop down, and I officially made it outside!
