The Air Blast Dare
I shot out the front door, buzzed straight down to Great George Street, and skidded to a halt beside a bright yellow public bike repair tower! Bolted to the pavement was a heavy steel floor pump with its spring-loaded T-handle standing tall like a launch catapult. You know I couldn't walk past that piston without giving it a stress test! I took a running leap onto the base, vaulted straight up, and slammed both sneakers onto the rubber handgrips with all my weight. CHUNG-WHOOSH! The cylinder hissed a ferocious jet of air through the dangling brass chuck, whipping the thick black hose across the red bricks like an electric eel. The recoil popped me sky-high, and I stuck a razor-sharp landing right atop the round pressure gauge!
