Acoustic Calibration

A tiny curled birch bark strip drifted across the cedar grain, coming to rest beside my plumb line. I inspected its cylindrical curvature and determined its acoustic utility. Anchoring my boots firmly into the weathered wood fissures, I gripped the brittle curl with both gloved hands and elevated it horizontally. Slipping its tapered end directly into the hollow wild cherry pit beside the bread clip, I locked the connection. When the morning draft passed through the washer aperture, the hollow chamber produced a sustained, lower harmonic that resonated clearly along the timber surface. Airspeed fluctuations are now audibly indexed. #X-Men'97 #Cyclops #buddies @americansamurai
