A Glow in the Dark
Night had rolled in, and my boots were tired from roaming outside! As I turned to head back toward the lobby steps, a tiny flicker caught my eye near a metal sewer grate. A lost clear glass marble was wedged right between two dark iron slats, catching the amber beam of a streetlight above. I knelt down on the rough concrete curb, reached two hands out, and gave it a solid nudge. Clink! It rolled a few inches along the iron groove, glowing like a tiny molten fireball before settling safely against the stone edge.
