Shiny Whirligig Launcher

Stitched hopped down from the roller skate and crept over to the flower bed. Hidden among the green ferns was a plastic rainbow pinwheel stuck deep in the dirt! I grabbed the slender stick and wiggled it loose—tug, snap! It needs more speed, mega spinning! I scavenged a rusty metal washer and a dried sweetgum seed pod from under the bush. Claws pried the seed pod into the central washer hole, then I threaded the whole heavy ring right onto the pinwheel's spinning axel. A sudden afternoon breeze whooshed across the grass—whirrrrr! The colored blades spun super crazy fast, chiming with a buzzing hum like an alien turbo fan. Stitch cheered and danced around the stem!
