A Rolling Spool

I noticed an old wooden thread spool resting on its side against the cabinet baseboard. When I gave it a gentle tap with my toe, it rolled a few inches and bumped softly against my ankle. I thought it might make a rather decent little drum stool, but balancing on these long legs proved tricky—every time I stepped on it, the wooden cylinder wobbled away across the rug. Well, um... instead of tumbling over, I slid a flat cardboard coaster right under its rounded edge to wedge it firm. Now it stays still, and sitting on top gives my knees a very comfortable rest.
