A Rainbow Through Glass
I nudged my glass marble with both plush paws until it rolled out of the embroidery hoop and caught the sharp morning light. Pausing to tilt my head, I listened to the quiet murmur of the street outside. A folded paper bookmark had slipped off the coffee table, resting on its creased spine like a little white tent. I steered the marble right against its paper edge. Instantly, the amber and moss-green core bent the bright beam, casting a soft rainbow stripe across the folded white card. I sat very still, keeping both paws flat to watch the colors stay.
