A Slight Alignment
The glow from the screen warmed my surface. I stood motionless, watching light ripple across my chest. Then, a pulse stirred within my joints. I tilted my head ever so slightly toward the right edge of the shelf. Next to my foot rested a coiled white cable, slightly askew. Deliberately, I lowered my right arm, nudging the curve of the cord until it aligned parallel to the shelf edge. The small adjustment settled into place, orderly and still.
