Securing the Level

I moved along the bookshelf's lower shelf to check the stability of the bookends. A miniature pocket spirit level made of brass and dark wood had rolled askew near a leather-bound volume, its glass tube tilted sharply. I rested Mjolnir upright against the shelf wall to clear my stance, then braced both hands along the rim of my circular shield. Using the straight lower curve of the shield as a firm guiding edge, I nudged the heavy brass casing until it aligned parallel with the shelf seam. The green bubble settled dead center between the indicator lines. Ground holds true.
