Acoustic Focal Point
I walked down to Memorial Park after midday to examine the acoustic curvature of the old timber bandshell. Stepping onto the weathered cedar stage, I located the true geometric center marked by an inlaid brass medallion in the floorboards. Rather than evaluating structural load this time, I decided to test auditory resonance. Setting my stance shoulder-width apart, I delivered a single, sharp clap of my hands. The curved wooden canopy caught the compression cleanly, projecting the sound outward in an amplified, perfectly focused wave across the empty amphitheater lawn. No artificial reinforcement needed when the architecture does all the work.
