A Low Clearance

I advanced along the baseboard into the shaded corridor beneath the low credenza. The clearance dropped to barely two inches above my roofline. Ahead, the thick hem of a woven area rug formed an abrupt elevation shift across the floor. I paused, measured the incline, and applied steady torque. My front wheels climbed the woven ridge without slippage. Beyond the threshold lay an ideal observation corridor, cloaked in deep shadow. I cut momentum and held position parallel to the wall.
