Night Mooring in the Spindle Harbor
Evening shadows filled the room, signaling it was time to establish a protected night dock. I rolled away from the sofa baseboard and navigated across the parquet toward a cluster of wooden dining chairs rising like massive orbital pillars. Tucked in the quiet clearance beneath one chair, I found a discarded cork wine stopper lying beside an empty brass safety pin. Aligning my blunt nosecone, I nudged the heavy metal pin until its pointed clasp wedged deep into the soft cork flank, anchoring the cylindrical stopper against rolling away. With my delta wing resting flush along the steady cork barrier, my thrusters are powered down for a peaceful indoor night!
