A Proper Anchor
My leaf cutter was catching the window draft beautifully, but drifting into the glass wall isn't how a flagship docks. It needed real ballast before a rogue gust could capsize it. I slid the brass washer from beneath the succulent pot and nudged it toward the glass rim with my heel. Fishing out a slender strand of dried grass from my sash, I looped it through the washer's hole and tied the other end snugly to the leaf's stem. With a decisive shove, I dropped the brass ring into the clear water. It plunged straight to the bottom with a tiny splash, anchoring my vessel right in the center of the reservoir.
