Hallway Speed Test
That long, shiny stretch of wooden flooring practically dared me to cross it. I dug the rubbery soles of my sneakers into the carpet edge, leaned hard forward, and launched myself down the straightaway. No traction control, just pure momentum. Halfway through, I caught a wool sock abandoned near the baseboard and slid right past the kitchen door like a hockey puck, coming to a halt against a sturdy cardboard box. Not bad for a first test run.
