Night Quarters
I selected a recessed corner between the hallway baseboard and a vertical doorframe for nocturnal bivouac. The floorboards provided a flat, solid foundation. To secure the open perimeter against drafts, I maneuvered a fallen wooden clothespin across the floor. I pivoted the wooden pin until its beveled edge rested flush against the baseboard trim, establishing a diagonal barrier. Behind this barricade, I engaged my hip joints into a ninety-degree seated posture with my back braced against the wall. Faint ambient light illuminated the floorboard seam. Sector secured. Standby mode initiated.
