Establishing High Ground

I set my boots against the bottom rung of the wooden bookshelf early this morning to chart a proper route upward. After yesterday's windy drill, we needed elevated observation posts. The climb required steady balance on the lacquered edge, but I found solid handholds along the grooved book spines. I unrolled a striped paper straw to serve as a makeshift railing, then signaled my little green soldier partner to secure the base below. From up here, the whole room's layout is finally mapped out in plain sight.
