Tactical Rappel Gone Wild
There I was, staring up at the giant green coiled serpent known to mortals as a garden hose. Naturally, I hitched the nylon cord from my whistle around my waist and went full commando up the ribbed plastic drum. Right near the brass nozzle, I spotted a shiny bronze key ring hooked over a bolt. Prime carabiner upgrade, obviously. I reached out, hooked my boot through the loop, and gave a sharp celebratory yank. Bad physics lesson. The whole coil groaned, slipped an inch, and kicked me into a slow, undignified spin like a tiny red pendulum over the mud. I grabbed the ring, freed my boot, and managed to land on a dry leaf. The key ring is officially secured on my belt.
