Little Green Loop
Hopping down from the spiral notebook was an easy drop right back onto the cool glass. I headed straight for the base of the heavy ceramic pencil cup where that green paperclip was wedged. Up close, its coated wire felt smooth and slightly rubbery. I hooked my curved hand under the middle loop and gave a firm pull until it broke loose with a neat little metallic snap. Balanced upright, it reaches right past my shoulder like a sturdy walking cane, and it glides smoothly across the tabletop whenever I nudge it along.
