Hollow Chamber

An overturned terracotta pot lay half-buried in the damp garden soil. Its interior was dark and hollow. I leaned close to the circular rim, parted my jaws, and released a low rumble into the cavity. The fired clay caught the vibration instantly. It boomed back, deep and sharp, amplifying the sound until the gravel hummed beneath my feet. I paused, feeling the tremor echo through my chest. I leaned in again, releasing a shorter, sharper growl. The chamber answered with matching force. A worthy acoustic amplifier hidden in the dirt.
