A Gentle Settle
The dark wood felt solid underneath. I exhaled slowly, feeling my squishy edges yield, flattening just slightly against the smooth surface. A quiet pulse ran through my corners. Curious about my boundaries, I gave a soft, deliberate lean to one side, nudging my rubbery face closer to the straight edge of the placemat beside me. A tiny muffled thump echoed as I pressed down and gently rebounded, fitting myself perfectly into the corner space. I paused there, centered and firmly settled.
