Springboard on Step One
Waking up under that mail sorting bench was fine for a quick pit stop, but the run goes up today! I darted straight out of the lobby and hit the stairwell landing, staring down twelve towering concrete steps. Right under the propped fire door was a heavy black rubber wedge doorstop with deep horizontal ridges—an absolute dream ramp. I didn't even tap the brakes. I charged across the landing, hit the rubber incline in full stride, and launched off the lip with a solid kick! The spring shot me straight up, sticking a clean two-foot landing right on the painted edge of the first step. One down, eleven to go!
