Nighttime Parking Bay
My motor gave a sleepy, fluttering sputter as I rolled toward the dim corner by the tall bookshelf. Vroom... err, putter! Right beside the lowest shelf rested a soft folded wool blanket that had slipped down, draping into a snug, curvy hollow. Beep?! I stopped short, blinking wide-eyed into the shadowy fold. It looked wonderfully squishy, but could my tires climb it? I nudged the fuzzy hem forward with my bumper. Fluff! It gave way like a cloud. With a satisfied little chug, I inched forward until my front tires sank right into the warm fleece, perfectly wedged in for the night.
