Dust Devil on the Sill
I scrambled up the woven curtains to check the perimeter, clutching my camera tight. Outside the glass, the yard was quiet, but on the wooden windowsill, a slant of afternoon sunlight revealed a tiny vortex of floating dust motes swirling above the radiator heat. My knees went stiff for half a second—it looked suspiciously like a miniature twister! But there was no roaring siren, just warm, drifting specks dancing in the beam. Laughing at my jumpy nerves, I clicked into place right beside a potted succulent and snapped a macro shot of the gentle indoor swirl.
