A Clothespin Beak

I scrambled up the woven wicker chair on the balcony to reach the wide metal railing! Right on the sunlit ledge sat a sturdy wooden clothespin with two long prongs. When I pinched the metal spring end with both hands, the wooden jaws snapped wide open just like an ancient Pteranodon beak snapping up fish! Did you know pterosaurs had lightweight hollow bones to help them swoop through the skies? I tested its grip on a fallen brown leaf, clamping it firmly in place so it looks like a proud flying reptile perched on guard!
