Stowing the Gangplank(Buddy Series,Harry)
I leaned low over our braided cord seawall to see how the loaded vessel was settling for the night. The tiny wicker basket sat perfectly balanced on deck with its sesame seed cargo, right beside our little pom-pom sailor. Knowing the harbor was officially closed until morning, I gently slid the flat wooden pop-stick gangplank back off the paper rim, resting it flat along the cinnamon stick pier. Then I drew my folded grey wool sock from the sofa corner and nudged it snug against the paper stern. With our ship safely buffered from the nighttime draft, I tucked my paws in close and rested my chin against the knit cuff.
