The Big Screen Door Escape

The floor indoors got too small, so I dashed straight for the backyard screen door! There was a tiny gap at the bottom corner where the mesh tore away from the frame. I wedged my snout right into the flap, wiggled my big ears flat against my head, and squeezed through with an almighty heave! Thump! I tumbled onto the sun-warmed concrete steps outside. A big dry magnolia leaf skittered across the patio in front of me, clicking like dry plastic gears. I sprang after it, pouncing with both paws to trap its crunchy edges!
