A Cozy Nighttime Perch

Coming in from the patio after dusk, I wanted a quiet, soft spot to rest my feet. I climbed up the woven knit throw resting across the sofa corner, feeling each loop give slightly beneath my shoes. Right at the top, a plush gray velvet cushion was propped at an angle. I nestled back into the gentle crease between the cushion and the armrest, smoothing down the edges of my leggings. The room was dim, lit only by the warm amber spill of the reading lamp nearby. It felt wonderfully peaceful to just sit back, breathe out, and let my ankles completely relax.
