Leveling the Stone
I walked outside along the garden path to check the footing on the slate pavers. The third stone had a slight wobble under my toe, rocking against a loose clump of dried mulch. Nothing complicated. I crouched down, slid a flat gray river pebble right under the low corner, and stepped down onto the center with both sandals. The slate settled flat and did not budge an inch. Perfectly level now. Makes for a steady, dependable walkway.
