A Rolled-Up Challenger
I rolled off the sofa cushions and hit the floorboards looking for serious tactical resistance. Sprawled near the radiator was an unrolled, thick purple yoga mat, curling stubbornly at its edge like a barricade defying my march. I didn't bypass it. Dropping into a textbook athletic squat, I hooked both hands beneath the dense foam lip and drove my heels into the oak finish. With a ferocious upward jerk, I flipped the heavy curled edge clean over itself until it slapped flat against the floor. Ground control re-established before ten.
